Translating Multiculturalism in Multi Youth Movement Identity

 (abstract for Asian Pasific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Right 6th)

Youth are all people aged 18 to 24 years. Youth are "mature", able to determine his life and have autonomy over the body to determine his life. All these identities attached to them (youth street, school youth , youth gay , youth transgender , etc.) is an existence that they should be recognized. Reality on the ground show a different thing, a lot of stigma and discrimination among adolescents in several living rooms. Youth are often considered to be volatile so as not to be involved in decisions concerning the interests of youth itself. There's also a street youth, school youth, youth sex workers, etc. who have not gotten their rights such as reproductive health education, service and health protection, and free from abuse and maltreatment, and so on.

Departing from the ICPD (International Conference on Population and Development) in Cairo in 1994 on Reproductive Health and Sexual Rights, which guarantees the rights of sexual and reproductive health of adolescents. A youth movement then constructed by reason of diversity, addition and then believe it is true that teenagers themselves who would be actors of change by the identity of each of the diverse, but could come together and reinforce each other.

A conference designed specifically with the concept of "touching each other" that involve youth from the various identities that school adolescents, street youth, youth sex workers, young lesbian, gay youth, transgender youth, young Queer and youth village. The conference, held on 16 to 17 July 2010 was able to reinforce the concept of adolescence as identity and jointly prepare a movement to fight for sexual rights and reproductive rights.

Formed YOTHA (Youth Association), an organization which becomes a tool of transportation is the movement of youth in the processes of advocacy of sexual rights and reproductive rights. YOTHA doing advocacy work for the realization of a society and a just system of government, guarantee human rights, regardless of social status, health status, choice of profession, sexual orientation and gender identity.

Vision on later scaled back the mission, namely: education and public awareness about the rights of adolescents, to ensure recognition, protection and fulfillment of the rights of adolescents, as well as fight for access to youth friendly services. To support the vision and mission YOTHA, formed three channels of movement, namely: the media, campaigns, research and lobbying.
